
"Don't be afraid, little beetle!"

The original idea behind this diorama was the shuttle perched atop a spacecraft that had been destroyed in a previous diorama (which was also destroyed)...

The goal was to turn it into an all-terrain vehicle capable of moving through muddy ground, equipped with enormous wheels that would allow it to move easily—or even... float. Old “Cockoon” deodorant containers served as the basis for the wheels...

The vehicle has been attacked; parts are hanging off it, and the surviving crew member is waiting for help...
Casting/Plaster

In this case, the model must be secured to the set quickly before painting to ensure a strong bond between the two components...
After creating a mold using (smooth) calendar cardboard coated with petroleum jelly and secured on the outside with aluminum tape to prevent leaks, apply several layers of plaster of Paris until the desired result is achieved...
Painting


The chipping effect on the wheels is created using hairspray. A light gray Humbrol is sprayed with an airbrush as a base coat. After it is completely dry, spray-on hairspray is applied and allowed to dry. Then, an acrylic green is airbrushed onto the surfaces. Once dry, apply hot water with a brush to the areas you want to chip, wait a few minutes, then start “scraping” with a brush, toothbrush, cotton swab, etc... Finally, you can apply an acrylic varnish to seal everything in place...

Then I finished the floor with a base coat of Sand Yellow 93 & 69 applied with an airbrush... The vehicle is finished...

The figures: The seated pilot is a modified Tamiya figure. The Star Wars figures are 54mm lead pieces that have been repainted and weathered...
Antigrav

The rescue vehicle is made from various parts... Among other things, you can recognize a typewriter wheel, CD cases, and a printer ink cartridge cover...

It is attached to the decor and glued to the stem...
