La guerre du Vietnam

Débute de 1946 à 1954, avec la guerre d’Indochine, opposant la France, voulant reconquérir son ancienne colonie au Viêt-minh d’Hô Chi Minh.

Le conflit se transforme ensuite en une guerre ouverte entre le Vietnam du Nord et le Vietnam du Sud. Les uns étant appuyés par les forces communistes et les autres par les pays opposés.

Les américains débarquent en 1965 jusqu’en 1975 et cela se terminera par la victoire des Khmers rouges.

Pendant 8 années de guerre les pertes s’élèveront à 2 millions de vietnamiens tués et 57 000 tués et 153 303 blessés pour les forces américaines.

The Vietnam War

Began in 1946 and lasted until 1954, with the Indochina War pitting France, which wanted to reconquer its former colony, against Ho Chi Minh's Viet Minh.

The conflict then turned into an open war between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. One side was supported by communist forces and the other by opposing countries.

The Americans landed in 1965 and remained until 1975, when the war ended with the victory of the Khmer Rouge.

During eight years of war, 2 million Vietnamese were killed, while 57,000 American forces were killed and 153,303 wounded.
